- Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA)

The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA) was incorporated as a not-for-profit society in February 2002, and began operating its four port facilities, divested from Transport Canada, in April 2002. Acting as an advocate for the harbour, the GVHA is working to improve its function as a working harbour, and a marine transportation centre with a strong focus on tourism.

The Port of Hamilton handles the largest volume of cargo and shipping traffic of all the Canadian Great Lakes ports. In 2002, the port saw cargo volumes in excess of 12 million metric tonnes, ranking it among the top ten ports in Canada. About 700 vessels arriving annually to berth at some 11,000 metres of dockwall available in the port.
