Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
Yellowknife is a city of 16,000 and the capital of the Northwest Territories. The name 'Yellowknife' refers to the colour of the copper knives carried by the inhabitants of the 1800s. In addition to copper, many other metal mines operate in Yellowknife. Some of the resources mined here are gold, tungsten, and diamonds. Although the government is the largest employer here, the mining industry still relies on the townspeople a great deal.
