St. John's, Newfoundland
St. John's is the capital of Newfoundland & Labrador and the most easterly port and oldest city in North America. It has a population of over 120,000. It is known as a major commercial fishing city. Additionally, St. John's is close to the Grand Banks oil reserves, and is the base of operations for the Hibernia undersea oil drilling project.
